Calling the U.S. Collect
June 21, 2007 in Telecommunications
So, I found the following to help people conduct the above while living in Korea.
Dial 00799 (with no prefix) if you would like the help of an operator from Korea Telecom in making an international call. You can do this from anywhere in the country, and there are a diverse range of services available. First dial 00799, and an operator will answer. Ask for the desired service, and you will be connected.
I need to call home for my credit card issues while I have been living here in Korea & so to save me a little money, this is handy, but I always forget what the number is!!!???
^^

Thank you so much for sharing this information! My bank in the USA put a hold on my ATM card because of irregular activity. I was able to call them collect from Korea and fix it thanks to this post. This was the first hit on google that came up for “call collect from korea to usa” and it was right on.
