While your Korean might not be refined yet, you may need material to practice your Korean language skills.  Why not use some sites that are free to practice those developing Korean language skills?  Also, check out what the most “online countries” (source CIA World Factbook) in the world views daily on their computers:

  1. Naver (no doubt about this one — the most used Search Engine — the Korean “google.com”)
  2. Daum (similar in terms of the battle between Google & Yahoo — this is the Yahoo, but ironically may be dealing with US’s Google to get a foothold into the Korean market)
  3. Nate (owned by SK, one of the bigger “chae-bols” or business groups like “Hyundai” in Korea)
  4. Yahoo! (Yahoo’s penetrating more than Google is — Koreans seem to like busy interfaces)
  5. Tom.com (China’s penetrated into the Korean market as well)
  6. NetMarble (gaming is big in this country where the youth also power a lot of the Internet usage in the PC Rooms)
  7. Gmarket (Auction site — Koreans love to get a deal)
  8. Internet Auction (was the Ebay of Korea, but Gmarket’s kind of taken over)
  9. Hangame (like I said, gaming is big!)
  10. MSN (2 US companies have learned that a busy interface is better than a simple one in Korea)
  11. Sayclub (Social networking site – 2nd behind the #1 site Cyworld, which is owned by the #3 site Nate.com)
